Assisted Recovery

In the meantime, Nurse Julie from the Home Nursing Foundation, came today for a short visit. This was to be a six-monthly assessment of my condition. Today’s assessment showed that my blood pressure was low, and that I had lost weight, a result of my bad appetite.
Hypotension was attributed to the nightly peritoneal dialysis, during which osmosis is responsible for removing toxins and fluids. This has taken its toll on my body.
Years of consuming anti-rejection medication have also resulted in my weakening heart and legs. My neurologist advised that the nerves in my legs have been damaged by the long-term consumption of steroids. So one condition has led to the next. Much like an ageing vehicle, the various components of my body were slowly shutting down, one at a time.
