On Borrowed Time

I have written my Advanced Care Plan for my doctors. Those are my instructions on how I’d like to die. More so, at what stage I want them to let me go. I know that my faculties will break down, one by one. My heart is supported articially both by drugs and a pacemaker (AICD). Such is medical technological advancement – we sustain life beyond natural death.
All my life, I have worked hard, played hard, travelled beyond our shores and met thousands of movers and shakers. I have spoken to them and have benefitted from their vision. Every year, I learn what loyalty means, when many come back and re-appoint us. I am very grateful for customers as such, trusting us year-on-year, year after year. Truly, we have built a heritage of 15 years! Due to my wretched heath, I’ve had to stop working and close the business.
So that’s the end. I’ve informed my customers and vendors, so everyone knows, more or less, my health condition.
But I’d still continue to write. Hoping to sustain my life in any way I can.

“What’s the bravest thing you’ve said?”. “Help.” – Charlie Mackesy
